I was given a quote of $1500 by Evolution Performance just to install the Whipple HO Kit.
I was also quoted $500 by them to dyno tune my car.
The guy I was talking to was not Fred, the owner, andI don't think he was as experienced because he told me I would have to drop my car off for 1 total week.
I want to go to one of the best/experienced shops but damn at that price and for that amount of time they could do more than install a fricken' Whipple.
Anyone know of any reputable shops that have done many Whipple installs in the Philadelphia area?
The only 2 shops in my area that I know of are Evolution Performance and Tillman Speed (APD Performance) in southeastern PA.
I also know about CJ Pony Parts in Harrisburg, PA and JDM in New Jersey but they are too far away.
Should I even think about a Ford dealer installing the Whipple?
Anyone had a supercharger installed on their Mustang by any of the above mentioned shops?
I have gotten mine installed at 1500 dollars including dyno tuning after. Took 1.5 days and the install looks factory! Love it and no issues yet that was not an easy fix. Hope you find a place for the install but why would they need it a week?

The ford dealers in my area Are installing them for 650.00 plus they sell the kits at right about internet prices. takes them a solid day. the tunes they stay with are the canned whipple tune. I have read that the tune works good until you want to tweak your extras into the HP range. try installing it yourself ? whipple instruction are pretty nice looking..
I would recemend talking with the owner.. if you really want to still use them. Are they going to dyno it in house or do they have to take it somewhere?
Do you have forged internals? 500 for a tune and dyno is kinda high IMO. I am sure they are good but.... Im not sure with a stock engine you would need a 500$ tune over the supplied tune. good luck either way.

Evolution Performance - (I've watched AND heard them dyno their 9 second GT500) http://www.evoperform.com
Our Mustang Dynamometer 1100-SE is designed to test RWD Drag Cars, Sport Compacts, Diesel Trucks, and Motorcycles - truly amazing for only one machine. With a capacity of 1,500 HP at the wheels, the 1100-SE is large enough to handle both Street and Drag Race Cars. The 1100-SE offers big 30” diameter rolls for superior traction so your wheels will not slip when boost kicks in, or when nitrous oxide is used.
Our In-House Dynojet 224xLC allows us to dial in even the smallest application-specific changes to your vehicle's computer. With the ability to measure up to 1500+ horsepower at over 200MPH, we can handle most applications without fail. A simple click of the mouse can turn the 224xLC from an eddy current dynamometer back into an inertia only dynamometer or vice versa! This allows for road-simulation testing as well as closed-loop sweep and step tests.
My advice, as always, is to dive into a self install. The install is too easy to pay someone $1K+ to do it for you. It was seriously one of the easier automotive jobs I've tackled over the years.
Mickey, you guys are offering a great price for the install. Kudos to HCM.
